![]() God is the one who sits behind God. God is not the denotation but the motivation for the word “God.” God is the one who holds silent as the people talk of God. God is the one who whispers whenever they finally stop talking. God is in the religion right up until you make it a religion, and God is in your resolve when you reject it for the right reason. God is spiritual but not religious
And then religious but not spiritual when the two need to reverse. God is the God of the Right whenever the Right becomes Left And the God of the Left as Left becomes Right. God is the third way, wherever the sides are drawn And the fourth way, wherever the third way becomes a side. God is not in the discussion about God but in the friendship that does the discussing. God is not in the agenda but in its earnestness. God is not in the policy but sits with us in the fear that produced it. God is not in the retaliation to the violence but died with its victims. God is scarce in mouths of the pious and full in the hearts of the broken. God is not in the book about God but in the yearnings of those who read it. God is the first to make the atheist’s critiques and subverts them by affirming them. God validates all unbelief and upsets it in the validation. God sits at the loom of history, weaving ups in the warp and downs in the weft And then goes on weaving afterward. God waits for us at the end And the end is the beginning. Cheers and Peace, Jared |
